Sculthorpe Mill is ideally situated just 20 minutes from Norfolk’s famous beaches, in stunning countryside just outside the historic Georgian market town of Fakenham.
Holkam beach is considered one of the loveliest and most unspoilt beaches in the country, but there is also the wonderful Brancaster beach and if you enjoy a nice walk, our personal favourite, Burnham Overy Staithe.
The area is perfect for walking and cycling, with hundreds of public footpaths and quiet country lanes criss-crossing Norfolk. Next door is the Hawk and Owl Trust’s Sculthorpe Moor Nature Reserve; a haven for wildlife lovers and birdwatchers, whilst a short drive away are the reserves at Cley, Wild Ken Hill, Snettisham, Pensthorpe and Titchwell.
Houghton Hall often hosts world class exhibitions and events, and is just a short drive away, as are the stately homes at Sandringham, Holkham and Blickling for those looking for a bit of opulence on their visit.
You can go paddle boarding in Brancaster, kite surfing in Hunstanton, as well as taking in a day at Fakenham Races, Norwich City Football Club or even sailing at Brancaster. There is something for everyone.
Fakenham hosts a historic market every Thursday, and those looking for some extra retail therapy, the nearby Burnham Market, Wells-next-the-Sea and Holt have some truly fabulous shops to while away the hours in.
Norfolk has something for everyone, from families looking for a fun beach escape, to those looking to get into nature, to people looking to get away from it all under our famous huge skies, and there is no better place to base your stay than at Sculthorpe Mill.

About Perudo
Perudo is a descendent of the ancient South American game 'Dudo', more commonly known today as Liar's Dice. Played by two or more people, it is quick to play—the faster the more fun! In Perudo, players take it in turns to bid on how many dice of a certain number are under everyone's cups. They are eliminated when their bids are successfully challenged (or dudo'd) and they have no dice left. The last person standing wins.
If you haven't played before, don't worry, don't worry as we will be give a masterclass before hand, it is incredibly easy to pick up and once you play, you won't every look back.
